Pearl Izumi began business over 50 years ago when a father, living in Tokyo, developed racing apparel for his son. His son enjoyed biking.
From this humble beginning, Pearl Izumi USA, Inc. is known throughout the world for manufacturing quality sports apparel.
Since 1981, Pearl Izumi has been sold in the United States. Pearl Izumi apparel was sponsored in the 1984 Olympic Games as well as other major trade teams during the 1980's.
Pearl Izumi USA, Inc. obtained a license for the US market. And is gradually obtaining licenses in other countries throughout the world. At this time Pearl Izumi USA, Inc. has licenses in 14 countries.
In 1997, the company purchased the Pearl Izumi USA, Inc. brand name and trademarks for the United States.
