I had bad feet. Sometimes they were too sweaty, sometimes they would dry out and crack. Cotton socks just made it worse. These thin, soft wool socks solved the problem. The keep the wetness out, but are still breathable. The wool isn't itchy either. I've thrown all my cotton socks away and stocked up (pssss.... Moab Sports has them at about 30% off anywhere else). Also, i don't work for or no anyone at either Moan or Smartwool. I'm just a dude who got fed up with having bad feet.
Also, I'd say there good for temperatures around 30 degrees to 85 degrees. I'd go thinner if I lived in a climate the hit the 90s consitently.

Already owned one pair, paid higher price for them. Then purchased 5 pair online. Found that these socks last and keep your feet warm and dry. Held up well under extreme cold and great for everyday ware. Like the light grey, looks great but also have navy for dress. Might be a little to warm for hot weather but for Anchorage great year round although I will save them for cooler times. They are a little spendy but worth the investment.
