In the small village of Ibach, Switzerland, the original Swiss Army knife was created in 1897 by Karl Elsener. The Swiss Army knife has the cross and shield emblem. The Swiss Army knife can be found orbiting the world with the astronauts, going on expeditions with the exploreres, trekking through the rain forests and even in the New York Museum of Modern Art.
